Community Resources
Los Angeles and San Bernardino County Libraries
The county of Los Angeles has an extensive system of libraries that you might not take advantage of as often as you should! The libraries' website provides not only an online catalog to search through like you would find at every library, but it also has tools for homework help, and general community tools like tax preparation help during tax season. As an added bonus, the libraries have a contract with a company called Freegal which allows free, legal downloads of music. All you need is a library card. Their collection of music is constantly growing, and you might be surprised what you can find! |
City Hall and Community Centers
Most cities have their own website with community news and resources. This is often a good place to find out about events in the community. Events can range from fun, family activities to environmentally friendly recycling events for electronics, large furniture, etc. A quick search for your own city should turn up some sort of website or other if the one provided is not your home city.

Miscellaneous
College Search
It's never too early to prepare yourself for your future. Higher education is a stepping stone to having a stronger future. Knowing what colleges are out there and what your options are after high school (there isn't just one correct path) is important. This page is a subpage of Collegeboard, and will help you narrow down what kinds of colleges you should be looking into based on what your interests are. Additionally, familiarize yourself with collegeboard.org and the tools that they provide now so you aren't overwhelmed by them later. CSU Mentor
This is a good place to start exploring college. The Cal State System has over 20 campuses in California, with more than enough majors and specializations to make even the most indecisive person happy. CSU Mentor is not just a tool for college students though, it has planning tools for students who are in middle school and high school as well. Again, it's never too early to plan for your future. |
