Announcements
With one semester of distance learning down and students getting accustomed to the online platforms, I am tightening assignment submission expectations. There is now a more structured policy for late work, not only for the students' structure and organization, but for my own. When late work comes in randomly, it gets lost in the pile of things for me to grade. Students have been aware of the new policy since the first full day of class in semester 2.
All my contact information is on the welcome page, including my email address, Remind Codes, and office hours.
- Late classwork/homework will have a hard deadline at the 6 week grading period. No work will be considered for any credit after the 6 week grading period.
- Any classwork/homework turned in more than 1 week late will have points deducted. This will be determined by how far beyond the due date it is turned in, and will be at teacher discretion.
- Assessments will be accepted at full credit, but will also follow the 6 week deadline (generally). If a unit goes beyond the 6 week grading period, I will accept late assessments UNTIL THE END OF THE UNIT. Students will have opportunities for extra credit if there are any slip ups with assessments, but no late assessments will be accepted after the drop dead date of 6 weeks or the end of the unit.
- STUDENTS MUST COME TO OFFICE HOURS TO TURN IN ANY WORK (classwork/homework/ assessment) so I can grade it on the spot, or I will not grade it. Anything turned in marked "done late" in Google classroom will not receive points until students make the effort to see me in office hours. This is non-negotiable.
- Finals are next week 12/14-12/17
Next Week's schedule is being adjusted accordingly for online finals
Monday & Tuesday: Monday Schedule, periods 1-6
Wednesday: Periods 1, 3, 5
Thursday: Periods 2, 4, 6
Finals Schedule below
P 1/2: 8:00-9:30
P 3/4: 10:00-11:30
Lunch: 11:30-12:10
P 5/6: 12:15- 1:45 - Beginning 10/9/2020, Google Meets now automatically takes attendance and sends a spread sheet. It details what time you joined the meet, how long you were physically in the meet (logging out and logging back in while my main meet is open takes away minutes you were present), and what time you logged out. Attendance will be taken accordingly
- Attendance will officially be taken 5 minutes after class starts. If you are not in class by the time I take attendance (which will never be earlier than 5 minutes after class starts), you will be counted late.
- Remind Codes have been updated. If you are not yet on Remind, I do recommend that you join, though it is not mandatory. Please use the UPDATED Remind codes on the homepage, as the old ones will no longer work.
- Class assignments will be graded together in batches. Please put forth all efforts to turn assignments in on time whenever possible, but I understand that there may still be logistical issues while we are all adjusting to Distance Learning.
- Late assignments will be handled and graded when I have time and will NOT (for the first 6 week grading period) lose any points due to adjusting to Distance Learning. Please still communicate if you will be turning in late assignments so that I know what is happening and can plan accordingly.
